* Alkilinizing Broth
* Yogi Tea
Many unhealthy conditions and diseases are caused by over-acidic blood. Excess acidity can be caused by lack of fruits and vegetables in the regular diet, along with excess meat, eggs, wheat and flour products, sugar, alcohol. Focus on dramatically increasing your intake of vegetables and fruits, along with non-acidic grains such as millet and quinoa to make your blood more alkaline. Drink this broth several times a week, with the cooked vegetables if desired, to increase alkalinity. Double the recipe and freeze in small batches for later. This recipe is adapted from the book "Complete Natural Medicine Guide to Women's Health" by Sat Dharam Kaur, ND.
Ingredients (use organic produce when possible)
1 sweet potato or orange camote (high in beta carotene, alkaline)
1 onion (liver support, antibacterial)
2 carrots (high in potassium and beta carotene, alkaline)
1/2 bunch parsley (kidney cleanser)
1 cup spinach
1-2 cloves garlic (liver support, antibacterial)
1 gallon water
1 Tbsp turmeric powder (minerals, alkaline)
1/2 Tbsp seaweed powder (minerals, alkaline)
1/2 tsp cayenne (increases circulation)
1 tsp freshly ground flax seed
Directions: Chops vegies, add to large pot with water. Add spices and seaweed powder. Bring to boil and simmer 2 hours. Pour through a colander and reserve the broth. Vegies can be served with broth or composted. Add a sprinkling of ground flax seed to each cup/bowl. The broth will keep about 4 days refrigerated.
